Basic Rundown NAME: Midnighter. Sometimes 'M'. AGE: Mid to late 20s, probably. PREMISE: He's got a computer in his brain that makes him able to calculate a fight ahead of time and also interface with technical systems and also be a giant dick. Loves fighting and violence, probably a little too much. A friend to children everywhere, less of a friend to animals, enemy of the fashion police (and the actual police). A fan of dive bar food. Likes leather. Definitely an ass man. Punched an alien once. Twice. Many times. Kissed a god. Overall average grindr user. First Impressions VISUAL: The one on the far left. Out of costume, he looks like an insufferable hipster (he is, of course, the one in the glasses). FASHION: Awful, just awful. DEMEANOR: Cocky, casual, assertive, and generally more aggressive than he really needs to be. May rub people the wrong way. Or the right way. Depends on his mood. SOUND: His voice probably isn't the prettiest. General American accent, and a bit on the raspy side. SCENT: Old Spice, leather, sweat, fast food, blood, and / or interdimensional space cooties. MENTAL INFORMATION: Beep boop. Anyone attempting to read his brain will find it kind of, uh, computerized? Have fun with that. OOC BACKTAGGING: Go for it. I tend to be pretty fast, but I don't mind tagging with people of any speed or style. FOURTHWALLING: Sure, I guess. PHYSICAL AFFECTION: Hahaha, sure. Depending on how it happens, he might reciprocate just to annoy someone. He's not very good at genuine PDA, but he'll try for the right person. Note: Groping counts. PHYSICAL VIOLENCE: It's the fucking Midnighter. Do it to it, man. For this character, my only hard no is sexual violence or violence against children. Anything short of that is on the table. RELATIONSHIPS: Midnighter is 100% gay. I really ship him with Apollo, for obvious reasons. However, I find his attempts to date really interesting in his early solo run, and would be open to taking him from that canon point just to have him awkwardly navigate relationships again. I'd really prefer not to ship Midnighter with anyone below the age of 20, that said. Honestly, I'd prefer everyone be at least 25 (ish. Ages are weird in comic books, I know), but I might be able to be convinced of exceptions. That aside, I prefer writing slow burn, buildup, awkwardness, and I think it would be interesting to see how Midnighter handles dating someone who isn't normal but isn't Apollo. That said, I totally adore normies and would absolutely love to ship Midnighter with one since he's such a weird bastard. Wishlist & Notes CANONMATES: I personally consider the n52 Stormwatch reboot an incoherent mess from which I can take little, but if you're playing a character from it I'm totally down! Other DC denizens are always welcome as well; I have a particular soft spot for batfam (that's the part of the DCU I'm currently most familiar with), but I'm not saying no to anybody. CROSSCANON: I'm up for anything! Particular shoutout goes to X-Men, but honestly, if you think it'd be fun to mix with Midnighter, I'm up for it. In general, he gets along well with other capes from any canon, children or young kids, science experiments, violent people, aliens, and anything really freaking weird. I'm particularly fond of shitposting, fingerguns. AUS: Not interested in AUing Midnighter per se, but I am up for tossing him into other universes, canon mixing, different time periods, or jamjar settings. Really, I'm up for anything. MISC: This Midnighter is post n52 / Rebirth only! I'm not 100% familiar with Ellis' original run on the Authority. I'm totally up for playing with characters from that continuity, but just be aware that this Midnighter might be a little confused (and then probably pretty excited). I love cross-canon shenanigans, being dropped into a different dimension, and weird aus. Go crazy, I'm probably open to anything. If you're worried, drop me a line!
